POP Robotics is gearing up for the marketing presentation, which will be help the day before the robot competition. Only 8 students form our team may attend. This was tricky because ewe have 10 kids on the Engineering Team, and several more on the Creative Design team. Fortunately, two members volunteered to stay back at school. The remianing 8 students will need to prepare by getting the facts straight about their made-up company, which is presenting its robot for sale to the mining indistry.
John Carroll Catholic High School has entered the competition and their first strategy is to complete a test track to share with other schools. In the spirit of JCC and Catholic Education, this comes as no surprise. The track was completed several weeks before the competition and POP Robotics has an opportunity to practice our menuvers. Thank you JCC! 2014 post - The holiday weekend was a great time to begin construction on the test field. Two members of the team, along with their mentor began creating several elements needed for practice. The chicken was constructed from purchased PVC and an eyelet bolt, and the base of the bumpy road portions of the track was cut from ply wood. The specific requirements for building the test environment were included in the BEST game manual. Construction will begin on fabricated robot elements this week.
